I'm currently working on a long term project on colder water swimmers around lidos of Britain. Each image is accompained by a piece of personal text explaining the reason why they love to swim in cold water.
"Swimming at the Tooting Bec Lido during the winter months is truly "the icing on the cake" of an already all year round pleasurable activity.
Paradoxically swimming in cold water makes one feel warm inside as it accentuates the blood flow. The tingly & burning sensation on the skin helps combat the winter blues and makes me feel (very) alive!"
